Ag Day at the Capitol

The annual Ag Day at the Capitol has been scheduled for March 8 at the Monona Terrace in Madison. The event is the largest gathering of farmers from across the state representing a variety of farm groups to learn more about priority state issues, and to lobby their state lawmakers as a unified voice for agriculture.

The forum gets underway with lunch, a briefing on state issues, followed by a walk to the Capitol to meet with representatives to lobby on issues favorable for Wisconsin farmers.

Organizers say hot topics this year will include high capacity well legislation and the 2017-19 state budget.

Major sponsors of the event include the Wisconsin Farm Bureau, Rural Mutual Insurance Company, GROWMARK Inc., Dairy Business Association, Professional Dairy Producers of Wisconsin, Wisconsin Cattlemen’s Association, Wisconsin Corn Growers Association, Wisconsin Pork Association, Wisconsin Potato & Vegetable Growers Association, Wisconsin Soybean Association, Wisconsin State Cranberry Growers Association, and Wisconsin Horse Council.
