Wisconsin Potato and Vegetable Growers Association

Healthy Grown Expansion Goals and Resources

Are you on the fence about joining the Healthy Grown program? By now, you may have heard about the Promotions Committee’s goal in expanding the Healthy Grown program significantly over the next 5 years, which is part of the group’s long range plan set in October 2017.

One of the biggest reasons for this expansion goal is to further set Wisconsin apart in the marketplace as a result of Wisconsin growers all following the same program. Furthermore, with the improvements that have been made in farming over the last few decades, the cost difference between growing Healthy Grown potatoes vs. growing potatoes outside of the program has likely evened out, not to mention that the standards under the Healthy Grown program are practices that are good for all farmers to follow.

If you have questions about the Healthy Grown program, feel free to contact WPVGA or Deana Knuteson ([email protected]), who works with the program from UW-Madison. Additionally, here are some other resources that may help as well.
