Withdrawing of WI Nimitz 24(c) Registration on Carrots

ADAMA has withdrawn the 24(c) for Nimitz use on carrots nationwide due to a food tolerance data gap that was revealed by the EPA. We do not anticipate this data gap to result in any food tolerance violations for carrot fields that may have been treated with Nimitz during the time the registration was active in Wisconsin from 5/3/17 to 5/18/17.

The data gap was a result from the tolerance information that was submitted in the 24(c) application was actually from the granular formulation of Nimitz and not the EC version of Nimitz. The EPA approved a Section 3 registration for the granular version of Nimitz last summer however the company has made the decision not to register that formulation in any State as of today. In speaking with the EPA, the registrant plans to submit a bridging study from the granular to the EC formulation in the near future. Once the EPA reviews and approves of this bridging study the EC formulation of Nimitz will gain section 3 approval for use on carrots.
