Updates provided by Amanda J. Gevens, Associate Professor & Extension Vegetable Plant Pathologist, Interim Co-Director of Wisconsin Seed Potato Certification Program, UW-Madison, Dept. of Plant Pathology

Just a few vegetable disease updates from our neighboring states.  These reports indicate that the wet and relatively cooler weather are very favorable for water mold pathogens.  Be watchful for early symptoms of disease and be preventive in applying fungicides to limit initial infection for maximum control of these very aggressive diseases.

Late blight has been confirmed on tomato in Ottertail County Minnesota earlier this week.  This county is in central/western MN and at the time of the reporting there had been no other late blight reported in the region.

Below, I provide a link to a listing of fungicides for late blight management on potato in WI.

Downy mildew has been confirmed on cucumbers in Berrien County Michigan yesterday.  This county is on the west side of Michigan.  Weather conditions have been favorable for the disease.  Links below for more information.
