Members of Eileen Max’s fourth grade class at West Elementary School in Antigo, Wisconsin are shown with the potato plants they are growing in the classroom as part of the “Kids Dig Wisconsin Potatoes” program sponsored by the Wisconsin Potato Growers Auxiliary.  Throughout the month of April, 2011, Rick Hafner, Mary Gallenberg, Patty Hafner and Sheila Rine gave classroom presentations on potato production to fourth grade classes at three different elementary schools in Antigo and followed that with tours at Schroeder Bros. Farms.

Kids Dig-Rick HRick Hafner of the Wisconsin Seed Potato Certification Program gives a tour of Schroeder Bros. Farms, Antigo, to a class of fourth graders as part of the Wisconsin Potato Growers Auxiliary program called “Kids Dig Wisconsin Potatoes.”  In the background are Tom Beattie (a West Elementary School fourth grade teacher) and Pete Schroeder of Schroeder Bros. The “Kids Dig Wisconsin Potatoes” program is also taking place at three central Wisconsin schools:  Roosevelt and Plover-Whiting schools in Plover, and Tri-County School in Plainfield.
