Central Sands Drone Meeting

Wisconsin aerial applicators would like to invite any drone pilots intending to operate in the central sands of Wisconsin to a safety and efficiency meeting on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Budda’s (formerly Hooligans) bar in Plainfield. The meeting will last approximately one hour where we will present some protocols and procedures that will enhance the efficiency of drone operations while enhancing the safety of manned aircraft.

We will propose the use and instructions of the following inexpensive equipment:

1. Standardized truck markings with aviation red and white checkered flags
2. Standardized signage so that a pilot can identify a drone pilot via a visible number
3. Standardized communication protocol between the aerial applicator and the drone pilot

The intent of the meeting is to develop ways to establish two way radio communications between a manned aircraft and the pilot of an unmanned aircraft to minimize the possibility of multiple drone landings while aerial applications are taking place. We look forward to meeting with you.
