Free Tractor ROPS Drawing to be Held at Farm Tech Days

The Marshfield-based McMillan-Warner Mutual Insurance Company, in partnership with the National Farm Medicine Center at Marshfield Clinic, will give away a free ROPS at Wisconsin Farm Technology Days next month in Wood County. The company says tractor overturns are the leading cause of farm-related deaths and that’s why it is important that each tractor have a rollover protective structure.

A ROPS is an operator compartment structure intended to protect farmers from injuries caused by overturns or rollovers. More than half the tractors in Wisconsin do not have this protection.

One lucky tractor owner will get the free ROPS in a drawing at the show; and all who register will be enrolled in the Farm Center’s Wisconsin ROPS Rebate Program, which reimburses owners up to 70 percent toward the total cost of purchasing, shipping and installing individual ROPS.

The National Farm Medicine Center display will be located on the north end of Tent City.

Farm Technology Days will be held June 10-12 at D&B Sternweis Farms and Weber’s Farm Store/Heiman Holsteins near Marshfield.
