Langlade County Seeking Agricultural Research Station Program Manager

POSITION OVERVIEW: The Outreach Program Manager provides leadership for the management and operation of the Langlade Agricultural Research Station. The Research Station is operated by the University of Wisconsin Extension in partnership with Langlade County and Wisconsin potato growers. The land and facilities are owned by Langlade County and the operation of the farm is supported by the Wisconsin Potato and Vegetable Growers Association and the Wisconsin Potato Industry Board. Research is conducted by investigators from University of Wisconsin campuses and by Extension faculty and staff. The plots at the farm provide scientists and growers a research-based representation of a soil type important to potato production in the state. This position plans, implements, and evaluates research and educational programs related to the Research Station.

The Langlade Agricultural Research Station Outreach Program Manager reports directly to the Agriculture Institute Director for management and supervision, hiring and employment authority, employment changes, compensation and benefits, supplies and expense budget, development of their plan of work, and performance reviews. The Program Manager also gets guidance and input from the Area Extension Director for Area 3 relative to the Research Station partnership with Langlade County.
