Position Available: Part-Time Spudmobile Assistant for the Wisconsin Potato and Vegetable Growers Association

Qualifications: The successful candidate should have strong communication and public relations skills. A good driving record is essential. Must have or be willing to obtain a CDL. This position requires statewide travel with some work occurring on weekends. The ability to successfully pass a background check, as well as periodic and random drug and alcohol screenings is required.

One to two years of related work experience and or a working knowledge of agriculture is desired. The individual must be a team player with a positive attitude and an outgoing personality.  The individual must be well organized and highly motivated.  Writing, computer and social media skills are helpful.

Responsibilities: Coordinate events with staff, growers and industry member event involvement as needed. Take direction from and execute requests and decisions from WPVGA committees, board, staff and Coordinator of Community Relations. Drive Spudmobile and carry out planned promotional events as needed and/or in the absence of the Coordinator of Community Relations. Prepare, setup and close down equipment at events. Welcome guests and explain the Spudmobile experience. Answer visitor questions related to the potato industry. Care for and maintain educational components in and outside the Spudmobile.

Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs. Manage and operate within an established budget. Collaborate with staff and industry persons related to staffing needs and upcoming events. Write and post follow-up announcements and information on social media, blogs and press releases. Participate in Association-related activities as scheduled, such as Grower Education Conference, field days and other activities as needed.
Cleaning and maintenance of Spudmobile before and after events is required.

Successful candidate will be a member of the WPVGA Staff. Salary will be based on qualifications and experience.
