USDA AMS Webinar – “A Breach of Contract is Established Under PACA – NOW WHAT?”

When: Thursday, September 10, 2015
Time: 1:00PM – 2:00PM (Central Time)

The Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act (PACA) Division presents this webinar to explore the steps after a breach of contract is determined. We will provide real-life scenarios about contract issues in the produce industry, and help you understand your rights and responsibilities when your company faces a contract dispute in the future. Additionally, a question & answer session will follow the presentation, so all your concerns about contract disputes in the fruit and vegetable industry can be addressed. We recommend viewing the Dec. 2013 webinar titled, “Interpreting USDA Fruit and Vegetable Inspections: Does the Shipment Make Good Delivery?” prior to this new presentation.

Hot topics to be discussed in the webinar include:

  • How to calculate damages in a FOB contract.
  • How to properly document a consignment transaction.
  • Open or price after sale – How is the contract price agreed upon?
  • How a delivered sale differs from other contracts.

Mary Mitchell, Senior Mediator/Investigator with the PACA Eastern Region offices and John Koller, Chief of the Dispute Resolution Branch, PACA Division will be your speakers. Register today.
