Wisconsin Potato and Vegetable Growers Association

Wisconsin Potato Industry in “Maintenance Phase” of Food Safety Training

Over the course of the last 5 years, WPVGA has offered food safety training as a way of fulfilling the Association’s goal of providing continuing education to its members while also helping the industry stay proactive.

Training in previous years has included the following classes: USDA Harmonized GAP, Primus GFS, Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP), and most recently as of last year, classes compliant with the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) such as Preventive Controls and Produce Safety.

Given that a majority of Wisconsin grower members have taken advantage of attending the classes and are staying up to date with the requirements and certifications, the Promotions Committee is considering holding specific trainings every other year unless otherwise needed.

To gauge that need, please complete the following survey by end of day on Friday, January 5, 2017.
