Interview with Dr. Jeffrey Endelman
The Wisconsin Potato & Vegetable Growers Association is pleased to introduce the newest member of the University of Wisconsin’s “potato team”: Dr. Jeff Endelman has been hired as the WPVGA Professor of Plant Breeding at UW-Madison. His first day on the job was July 15.
Endelman was hired through a partnership between the university and the WPVGA. Taking advantage of a new option to fund UW professorships, the WPVGA agreed to provide $370,000 over the course of five years to support Endelman’s position and research. It’s a good investment for the growers, says WPVGA Executive Director Duane Maatz.
