Wisconsin Potato and Vegetable Growers Association

Little Plover River Study and Optimization Model Presentation

The WPVGA encourages all members to attend a public presentation on the completion of the Little Plover River Study and Optimization Model.

The presentation is being hosted by Wisconsin Senators Lassa, Olsen, and Cowles and Representatives Shankland, Krug, and Vandemeer along with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and the Wisconsin Geological and Natural History Survey.

The event will be held at the Noel Fine Arts Center, Michelsen Hall, (1800 Portage Street, UW-Stevens Point, Stevens Point) on Tuesday April 12th from 6 – 8 PM.

Representatives of WiDNR will give an overview of the project, Ken Bradbury of WGNHS will explain the model results, and Mike Fienen of USGS will summarize the model calibration work. Q&A will follow the presentations.

The model, user’s guide and report are currently being revised to address outside peer review comments.  When that process is completed, we will email more information about the schedule for the release of the model files, the user’s guide, and the final report. A technical webinar for model users is planned to take place in the future.
